Northwest Iowa native and NFL veteran, Bruce Nelson returns for his 4th season with the LWFA staff.  Bruce currently assists with the Emmetsburg HS Offensive Line where the former All-American’s hard work, consistency and determination provide great examples for young athletes.  Nelson played in Super Bowl XXVIII as a rookie with the Carolina Panthers following his 2nd round selection in the 2003 NFL Draft.  Bruce originally joined the Hawkeye program as a walk-on Tight End before moving to the Offensive Line and starting 48 consecutive games—an Iowa record at the time.  As a senior, Nelson was voted a team captain and helped lead the Hawkeyes to a Big Ten Championship, as well as earning 1st team All-Big Ten and All-American honors. Bruce’s commitment to excellence helped him become a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection in addition to a four-year Letterman.
